Join the Team! Alameda Nutrition is seeking a part-time consulting Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Part-time, bilingual dietitian consultant needed to work with new and established Spanish-speaking clients as our practice is expanding. Alameda Nutrition is a private practice nutrition clinic specializing in functional and holistic nutrition. Our background includes diabetes, weight management, gastrointestinal conditions and other medical diagnoses.
Here at Alameda Nutrition, we work with clients from all ethnicities and practice inclusivity and cultural sensitivity when providing nutrition education and counseling. The Registered Dietitian (RD) in this position will work in an outpatient office to provide nutrition care for pediatric and adult patients with a wide range of clinical problems. Primary responsibilities include nutrition assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition intervention, and evaluating clinical outcomes.
The RD maintains professional competence and continuing education per regulatory requirements.
Pay commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00 (hourly rate).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
Successful completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice experience approved or accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). A majority of the clinical training must have taken place in a large teaching hospital.
Registered Dietitian (RD) or eligible to sit for the RD registration examination and pass the exam within 6 months of completing the ACEND-accredited supervised practice program. An RD-eligible employee works under the direct supervision of an RD.
Ability to identify nutrition requirements for a wide variety of patients and accommodate cultural and linguistic differences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to adapt to changes in work duties and hours and days of work, including work on weekends.
Experience with using computers for daily tasks and communication.
Flexible and organized in problem-solving, utilizing resources, meeting deadlines, and setting and adjusting priorities without daily supervision.
Motivated, resourceful, and self-sufficient in routine work and improving clinical operations.
Attention to detail and excellent observation skills ensuring that nutritional assessments are completed.
Fluency in second language (Spanish).
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred background in weight management, bariatric surgery and/or diabetes (CDE not required)
Must be available Mondays and Thursdays, flexible hours to meet 8 hours minimum per week (holidays excepted)
Available to meet clients in-person at the Alameda office, as well as over zoom
License/Certification
Registered Dietitian (RD) at time of hire or within 6 months of hire
